Miguel Medina studied composition and classical percussion at the Conservatory Manuel M. Ponce, Mexico. His studies in composition led him to work on various films and this is when he finds himself an interest in films writing. Since 2004, he directed several short films that are presented in Montreal. His short film Les Autres has been selected for the festival Bosnia MICA in 2005. He worked as an editor for the film Masturbation libre, directed by the eccentric François Gourd, presented in 2006 at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma and in 2007 at the Rendez-vous du Cinéma Québécois. His universe (Rhizome films), is inspired of readings of the writer Franz Kafka and the French philosopher G. Deleuze.
