Caro Caron

Painter

CARO CARON feeds her needs for odds and ends daily; it’s a sort of chronic illness. She is a hunter/gatherer of what she considers primary materials: wood, metal, fur, feathers, plastic flowers, thingamajigs, dohickeys, and whatdoyoucallits... These curiosities that adorn many of her works, are transformed into sweet ‘n’ sour allegories of her universe, her “mug”, her monsters, her questions, her fantasies under garish colors and luridly exaggerated debased figures that reflect a humorously misanthropic worldview. Illustrator, painter and cartoonist, Caro has been a ‘body painter’ and a professional make-up artist for the past 16 years. She's been published notably in the “Cyclops” anthologies, Border Crossing, Fish Piss, The Montreal Mirror, Matrix, Comic Journal, Mac Tin Tac, King Can Comix, Awaye Dzigidzine, Mr. Ferraille and Hôpital Brut (Dernier Cri). Her work has been shown all around in Montreal, New Orleans,Toronto, Ottawa,France and Thaïland in all kinds of galleries and events.
